The Alberta Water Council incorporated to become a not-for-profit society in November, 2007. The Bylaws are filed with Corporate Registry and outline the general operation of the Alberta Water Council. Prior to November, 2007 the Council existed as a Minister's committee and reported directly to the Minister of Environment.
The Alberta Water Council operates according to a set of Process Guidelines, which were approved in March 2009. They describe the roles, responsibilities and operation of the Council and its consensus processes. The Process Guidelines are a companion to our Bylaws.
